The Itinerary Overview:

First Part:

Huanchaco & the North Coast: Here we will spend a few days in a traditional fishing village called Huanchaco, where many fishermen still use the ancient Caballitos to fish in the Pacific Ocean. We will even be able to participate in the construction of these boats that we can then test right off the beach in the protected bay of Huanchaco...

Huacas de Moche: We will have the unique opportunity to participate in actual archeological site digging with local archeologists, as we use their tools and techniques to decipher the ground below us and find out more about ancient civilizations still bing studied! The Moche Empire was most powerful in this area back thousands of years ago, and we will be completing a pottery workshop to see exactly how they used to make their decorative statues and vases...

Second Part:

Cusco, Inca capital: We will discover this charming city's architectural wonders, as the Spaniards built over ancient Peruvian structures, Cusco is truly a unique place to visit. With great meals to discover even more traditional cuisine, we will end up seeing cathedrals, archeological sites, art galeries and multitude of artshops that would take ages to see one by one…

Lares & Machu Picchu: We will visit the impressive archeological site of Pisac, and after we sleep in a local community in Calca, we will be trekking for 4 days through Lares region, a beautiful valley that will lead us to our ultimate goal: Machu Picchu! On our way we will meet many inhabitants in different villages, and very few tourists, and we will eventually reach the summit of one of the most amazing archeological sites in Latin America ...

Manu & the Selva: We will have the chance to explore of the Peruvian jungle (selva) and visit of the Manu Natural Reserve by rowboat, we'll be in direct contact with local natives that live there year-round with very little contact with the outside modern world. We will surely be amazed by the generous exotic flora as we will be staying at a traditional ecolodge campground run by a local family...
