Itinerary Overview:
First Part:
Pharaonic & Islamic Cairo: We will discover the ancient civilization's works of art, the most charming non-touristic restaurants of Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara and Dahshour, the Cairo Museum of course, and the amazing labyrinth of shops called the Khan El Khalili Market... we will of course get to visit the nightlife as it is lived
at the heart of Cairo, and we'll see some magnificent Islamic architecture by visiting beautiful Mosques in Cairo, like the mosques of Al Rifai, Ibn Tulun and Mohammed Ali...
Alexandria: This wonderful coastal city is a true charm and stands along the Mediterranean shore as one of the most significant portal cities in the history of civilization. We will visit the newly constructed Library of Alexandria, modelled on the original version of the ancient wonder of the world, as well as the Qayt Bay fort, positioned on the exact location of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. We will also see the King Farouk's old palace in Montaza, and we'll get to eat some of the best and freshest seafood!
Second Part:
Siwa Oasis: We depart for the Siwa Oasis and pass through El Alamein, the famous site of the WWII battle that changed the outlook of the war. The Oasis is said to host Alexander the Great's body, and we will therefore visit the Temple of the Oracle where this great warrior once came to be declared divine by the local priests, we will have the chance to sleep under the stars in the desert, sandboard in the overwhelming sand dunes, swim in the salt lake of the oasis, and taste the local cuisine of course...
Mediterranean Beaches: We will stop by some of the most impressive Northern Coast beaches of Egypt, have a BBQ at a rented villa close to the shore...
Cairo: The last day will be spent according to the activities that the groups decide to participate in and will take into consideration the flight schedules, since most of the group will be flying out, we'll see things like Khan El Khalili Market, Old Cairo, Islamic architecture, Feluca on the Nile, cafés...
