Nadim Awad

Nadim Awad lives in Montreal since 1996 but is originally from Alexandria, Egypt, where he lived in this Mediterranean coastal city for the first 13 years of his life. He grew up in this truly cosmopolitan society where it was commonplace to find Greeks mixing with French or Italians or even Armenians and others!  It is this great cultural mix that marked his childhood and allowed for his openness to the western world and a smooth integration into Canadian society.

He obtained his professional degree in the culinary arts and currently studies in Hotel Management at the ITHQ (Tourism and Hotel Institute of Quebec).

His career has taken him all over Europe where he had the chance to work for such luxurious establishments as the prestigious Relais et Châteaux Hotels. Following his first-hand observation of the negative impacts of mass tourism in Egypt, he has developed a respect for nature and the conservation of the environment.

Granted that Nadim has chosen tourism as his career path, he has taken upon himself to promote the positive impacts of ecotourism that is slowly taking its place in the global tourism industry.
